No personal experience with them. When I was researching small trucks I found one guy who was a big fan of them - but he bought a Ford. They don't hold their resale well and the consumer sites like Edmunds.com don't like them much. There are lots of consumer reviews there if you'd like to read up on them. I like to buy American when they're competitive quality wise but for a four door light truck I'd probably go with a Honda Ridgeline (even though they're really ugly).

Joel, that's the way I see it. The Toyota Tacoma was designed in California and is built in Texas. Much of the profit that finds it's way to Japan is reinvested in the US.

But I did like the Japanese Tacoma's better (size was smaller, quality was better and they were a LOT more rugged).
